The Churches of Louisiana welcome you!
A Directory For Visitors and Newcomers

The churches of Louisiana hope you will visit our respective houses of worship and give us a chance to greet you in God's Name.

If you are not sure about how to find a particular church building, or not sure the service time has not changed, its smart to phone. Some churches keep summer hours, all hold special events. You can also ask about parking, handicap accessibility, clergy, children's activities, Sunday school classes, weekday schedules and holy days.

When you come to one of our churches for the first time, please make yourself known to an usher and/or the pastor. If you see a guest book, or a visitors card, please sign it. We are always glad to meet new people, and we never mind explaining what our particular church believes and what we do. Most clergy counsel people who are troubled about ethical or religious matters.

The Louisiana Ministerial Alliance is an organization for all clergy and ministries in the area.

Our activities include operating a community food pantry (housed at First Baptist Church), conducting ecumenical services for occasions such as Palm Sunday, Baccalaureate, and Thanksgiving, staffing the hospital's volunteer chaplain service, providing emergency help in crises, providing the local outlet for Angelfood Ministries, exchanging information about programs, and causes of interest to churches.

If you are looking for a local church whose name is not in this brochure, perhaps they did not reply to our request for information.
